Saraswathi Puja Celebration

The Department of Library & Information Center, New Horizon College of Engineering, celebrated Saraswathi Puja on the auspicious occasion of Dasara Festival on 29th September 2025 at the Library from 3:30 PM onwards. The venue was beautifully adorned with vibrant flowers and intricate rangoli, creating a serene and festive atmosphere.
Goddess Saraswati, the Hindu deity of knowledge, wisdom, music, art, and learning, is depicted in white—symbolizing purity (Sattwa Guna), insight, and wisdom. She is portrayed with four hands, representing intellect (buddhi), ego or self-consciousness (ahamkara), mind (manas), and creativity or imagination. While Lord Brahma signifies abstraction, Goddess Saraswati embodies knowledge in action and reality. She carries a mala (rosary), pustaka (book), kamandalu (water pot), and the veena (musical instrument), each symbolizing spiritual and intellectual pursuits. The ritual was graced by the esteemed presence of Dr. Manjunatha, Principal–NHCE; Dr. Bodhisatvan R, Principal–NHCM; along with Directors, Deans, Heads of Departments, faculty members, non-teaching staff, and students. The Puja ceremony was performed by Dr. Anitha S Rai, Director – Library & Alumni Relations, and was followed by melodious devotional songs and hymns rendered by NHCE students.
The celebration concluded with the Mahamangalarathi of Goddess Saraswati and Prasad distribution, filling the atmosphere with joy and spiritual bliss. The event left everyone with a sense of gratitude and divine inspiration, befitting the spirit of the festival.
